Hello.
I am a self-taught artist from northwestern Ohio. I enjoy capturing light through still life painting. Not always, but mostly.
The work is oil paint on wood panels. I love it. It is like painting with colored glass.
My paintings want to move. Into your home, into a gallery, a museum, a hospital, a hotel, bank, coffee shop, garage. Wherever you are.
There's a fair amount of my inventory moving in and out of The Toledo Museum of Art store. Check it out if you are ever in town. They do a great job.
This site is under pretty heavy development. But thanks for swinging by. Drop a line sometime. I am easy to find.

A Painting Is An Object
It has dimensions. You can throw it across a lawn. You can put a hole in it, or spill coffee on it. It's not precious until you make it precious.
What Is Light?
Ray? Particle? Time itself? Who knows. We can try catching it in the act as it bounces off of things but that's about it.
Limited Palette
I always come back to just a handful of colors. More than Zorn, but not much.
Working On A Mistake
I spend a fair amount of effort choosing props, arranging objects, getting the light not wrong.
